Timid creatures who spent most of their time in their burrows they emerge during the full moon and perform complex dances. The reason for their dancing is a topic of some debate, but their performances are the cause of the geometric patterns in fields that Muggles find so distressing. I built the mooncalf as a peaceful creature that might be raised as a livestock. Their dung is used as a magical fertilizer by witches and wizards.
